So its christmas time once again, im not gonna ramble on bout the meaning of christmas an all that stuff, so i just with u all a merry christmas (has to be merry, cant be happy cos happy is used for birthdays, valentines, new years an most other celebrations, christmas is a one off an everyone should get merry!)

Heres a new font i have just created, its called evolution, the reason behind this is because as things evolve they lose the unwanted, crap stuff to become more efficient an this is what i am attempting with my new font

Here is a visual of my kinda final sainsburys bag design for a YCN project brief. Im currently working on a better version that incorporates a lino cut i did previously for another project (my classmates will know which one!) and the image here. will post back soon cyah!

here be a typographic map. Its a description of the visual language of the train station in Northampton set in a typographic format......so to the average ordinary people out there (like me), lots of text that makes a picture a lot like a map.

saw this funny but interesting site off of the http://ilovetypography.com/ website (which is a great webstie for you guys to look at!). So while i was reading this page i came up with an idea, why on earth in the english language do we have to have i with a capital I? i mean whenever you say "a" its always in a lower case (other than starts of sentences of course!) so why should i have to be in capitals? think about it

Heres a typographic video i found on the net, i think its a fantastic video and its also a good introduction for people who have no idea what typography is. kinda reminds me of the old Goofy cartoons where it was explaining or instructing Goofy on something, I know they were rip offs of those old vids from the 50s but i werent around then so Goofy will have to do! anyways hope you like the vid its by Boca and Ryan Uhrich

Thought I should put some more work up an keep the blog in my mind so I dont forget it! this was created on a random thought a few months ago, kinda reminds me of the old sega megadrive games an that era of gaming. So hope you guys are doin good out there in internet land, got a taxi the other day to a friends house an turns out the drivers daughter is also a graphic designer but it took her 2 years to find a job when she started, an even now she's been made redundant. Damn this is gonna be hard to make a living!!! might as well try an win the lottery!!!!!!!!

Did my first ever bit of teaching the other day (kinda, taught the 1st years cos the tutor wasnt around) anyways I now have a new respect for tutors an teachers etc around the world, firstly because its bloody hard to talk about stuff for a long time and secondly all the students look at you like a complete lemon, I'm not built for this crap but I'm glad there is people out there that can do it.
Onto another subject which personally pisses me off alot, why do people think that if you dont have a mac then your incapable of doing anything remotely artistic. I agree macs are great an everything but their not the best thing ever, I think my pc is great an can do just as much as a mac if not more. Plus I've noticed that most people I know who live far from home own pcs or laptops, whereas mac owners tend to be the ones that live at home with their families an dont have to pay rent or bills. This is purely aimed at the student and yes I agree there will be the odd exceptions I know one or two myself. Anyways rant over, cyah

here is the first image of many thats gonna be on this blog within the coming months. I cant exactly remember when I came up with the idea. Basically the roman numerals are the day, the symbol below is a star sign, and the chinese character below is the year. Yes I know the title is ever so slightly cheesy, but I like to have fun and I'm not one of those people who think they are above everything. Oh by the way welcome to my blog, hope you like it and if you dont then find something else to look at. I'm a graphics student currently at Northampton university in England. I have just started my second year and already been given tons of work to do and not alot of time to do it. All I can say is, if your stressed out with work think "i cant be the worst person out there doing graphics" (or whatever applies to you) and the immortal words of Bob Marley "dont worry, be happy" plus my all time favourite "shit happens" cos it does an sometimes you need to roll with the punches. Well this is my first post, enjoy! an hopefully more to come!
